SKW Tennis - Hotel Thule Kallie Junior Classics 2008

The tournament was a great success. The players from Windhoek and Walvisbay showed wonderful sportsmanship and tons of smiles after matches. We had 18 entrants from Jp and Vladi’s tennis school from Walvisbay and 18 from Kallie’s SKW tennis school. The winning team for this competition was Kallie’s SKW tennis school with 780 points and Walvisbay with 336 points.

SKW *Pro Tennis Academy  :

A tennis clinic for under 10 players will take place from 23 to 24 April 2008 and for under 12 to under 18 players from 21 to 22 April 2008 at the SKW tennis courts, from 09h00 to 15h00.  This clinic is open to all players.  The price is N$350.00/player and includes lunch.

SKW PRO TENNIS ACADEMY - KEEPS UP THE PACE IN JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENTS

A NTA Junior Tennis Tournament held from the 25th to the 26th of January 2008 saw Pro Tennis Academy /SKW players excelling in their different age groups.  It is encouraging to see such results coming from these juniors.  This saw Sedi Jacobs winning the u/12 girls, Veja Hinda u/12 boys, Janneck Palmhert runner-up u/12 boys, Francois Muller runner-up u/14 boys, and Michal Muller winner u/16 boys.

The second NTA Junior Tennis Tournament, 22 to 23 February 2008, had young and up-coming star Nicolay Palmhert winning the u/10 boys, Nguvi Hinda runner-up u/10 boys, consistent Sedi Jacobs winning the u/12 girls, Veya Hinda winning again in the finals against Janneck Palmhert.  Francois Muller played up an age group in the boys u/16 where he got to the semi-finals.

In relatescored a big one again when Francois Muller was awarded the SKW Junior Sportsman award with Leré Nieuwoudt and Michal Muller being nominees for the Junior Sportswoman and Junior Sportsman awards respectively.

The just ended FNB Junior Tennis Initiative Tournament (JTI) had Pro Tennis Academy players who were not to be outdone with Nina Burger coming fourth u/10 girls, Kimberly Brain runner-up u/12 boys and Michal du Preez coming third u/12 boys.

We look forward to keeping Pro Tennis Academy’s flag high together with that of SKW in the coming tournaments with more juniors excelling, said Elizma Nortjé
