SKW Rhythmic Gymnasts Back from Belgium
Five gymnasts of SKW Gymnastics Academy competed
in the SRG MOL International Rhythmic Gymnastics
Tournament in Belgium from 10 - 12 May 2008.
About 50 promising young talents from Belgium,
Germany, Ukraine, Netherlands, Russia, Hungary,
Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Ireland, France, USA,
Czech Republic and Namibia took part in this
event.
For the Namibian girls in the HOPE Category,
Michelle Bierbach, Nadia Reichstein and Maike
Brandt, this competition was their first one
ever overseas and a very exciting experience.
They had to perform three routines (free dance,
rope and hoop) and finished in 11th,
17th and 22nd place
overall respectively, out of 26 competitors.

SKW Rhythmic Gymnasts to Compete in Belgium
Five gymnasts of SKW Gymnastics Academy will
compete in the SRG MOL International Rhythmic
Gymnastics Tournament in Belgium from 10 - 12
May 2008.
They are Michelle Bierbach, Maike Brandt, Nadia
Reichstein competing in HOPE Category with FX,
Rope and Hoop as well as Nicole Bierbach and Ida
Steenkamp competing in JUNIOR OLYMPIC Category
with Rope, Hoop, Ball and Ribbon. They are
accompanied by SKW and National coach Angela
Lepekha.
56 participants from Namibia, Belgium, Germany,
Ukraine, Netherlands, Russia, Hungary, Slovenia,
Croatia, Spain, Ireland, France, USA, Czech
Republic will take part in this event.

SKW GYMNASTS TRIUMPH IN JOHANNESBURG
This week, the SKW Rhythmic
Gymnasts returned triumphant from the Jozi
International Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition.
The event was held at Wits University in
Johannesburg and was attended by gymnasts from
South Africa, Namibia, Germany, Malaysia,
Zimbabwe and the Ukraine.
In the Infant Category, Veronica
Lepekha won the Bronze Medal for her Free Dance
routine and was awarded the Bronze Trophy for
achieving third place in the Overall
Competition.
In the Pre-Junior category Nadia
Reichstein won Silver for Rope and Hoop and
Bronze Medals

SKW Gymnastics Academy -
SKW Gymnasts to Participate in “Jozi
International”
SKW Gymnastics Academy is kicking off the 2008
competition season with a bang. 7 top gymnasts
will compete in the City of Jozi International
Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition to be held in
Johannesburg, South Africa from 25th until 30th
of March 2008.
The team consists of Veronica Lepekha (Infant),
Michelle Bierbach, Maike Brandt, Nadia
Reichstein (all Pre-junior), Aldi Truter, Ida
Steenkamp and Nicole Bierbach (Junior Olympic).
They will be accompanied by National and SKW
coach Angela Lepekha as well as Meagan Bierbach
as judge.
The Jozi International Competition will not only
feature gymnasts from numerous South African
clubs and Namibia but also competitors from as
far as Malaysia, Germany and Ukraine, among them
World Champion Anna Bessanova. |

the Artistic Gymnastics section for girls with
remarkable results. With Dimitriy Lepekha from
Ukraine SKW Gymnastics Academy has a qualified

11 gymnasts
of SKW Gymnastics Academy are gearing up for the Zone 6
Competition in Harare on the 9th and 10th
of December 2007. The 10 rhythmic gymnasts and one
tumbling gymnast form part of a big team of the Namibian

Artistic Gymnasts with Top Results at Nationals
11 artistic
gymnasts of SKW Gymnastics Academy participated in the
2007 National Artistic Gymnastics Championships,
expertly hosted by Excelsior Gymnastics Club on the 2nd
of November.
In the
overall ranking the 11 SKW gymnasts brought home one
gold and 5 silver medals. The gold medal went to Hilma
Povanhu (Level 1, over 13 years); silver to Kelsey
Alberts (Level 1, 6 years), Kaye-Lynne van Wyk (Level 1,
7 years), Manuela Vente (Level 1, 8 years), Anifa
Alberts (Level 1, 10 years) and Cherley Muinjo (Level 1,
under 12).

Excellent Results for Namibian Gymnasts at SA Games in
Pretoria
A 28 member
team of the Namibian Gymnastics Federation NGF took part
in the South African National Championships in Rhythmic
Gymnastics from the 3rd to the 6th
of October 2007 in Pretoria - with overwhelming
success.
Never
before could Namibian gymnasts of the performance levels
4 – 8 achieve such a lot of overall medals in SA
Nationals as this year, namely three gold medals, one
silver and two bronze medals. more |
