The time has come for Cymot SKW to prove that they
should be considered serious title contenders. After
a very disappointing run of form over the last month
which yielded only 2 out of 12 points with draws
against Tigers & Gunners and defeats against Eleven
Arrows and Black Africa, the players from Cymot SKW
must now stand up and be counted.
After last weekend’s loss to Black Africa at a
packed SKW Stadium, Cymot SKW has dropped to fourth
on the log still two points behind the log leaders
and having played one game more. Failure to convert
their total dominance over Black Africa into goals
saw a disappointing end to an otherwise good
performance by the men in green.
With three out of the last five games against teams
currently placed first, second and third their
destiny at the end of the season is still in their
own hands. Cymot SKW can however not afford to drop
any more points and their strikers must find their
scoring boots if their aim of finishing among the
top three is to be achieved. Orlando Pirates, who
are the form team of 2008, will visit the SKW
Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 15h00.
This game will go a long way in determining who of
the two will remain in the title hunt and which team
should burry their title hopes. The players are well
aware of the many wasted opportunities that could
have taken Cymot SKW to the top of the league but
also know that the winner of the league will only be
determined after the last league match, so there is
still some time left to turn around the recent
misfortune and prove to their many doubters that
they are indeed one of the best teams in the NPL. Be
sure that the game on Sunday will separate the men
from the boys.
