Classes and Distances FITA 1440 round

During target archery event, the following classes are applicable:

• Cubs (male and Female) up to the end of the year in which the athlete turns 14 years old

• Cadet (men and women) up to the end of the year in which the athlete turns 16 years old

• Junior (women and men) up to the end of the year in which the athlete turns 18 years old

• Women and Men  up to the end of the year in which the athlete turns 49 years old.

• An archer may choose to compete in the class of Masters (men or women) as from the year in which he/she turns 50 years old and thereafter.

Distances to be shot:(all in METERS)

• Cadet Women: 60, 50, 40, 30 m

• Women, Junior women, Cadet men, Masters Women: 70, 60, 50, 30 m 

• Men, Junior Men, Masters Men: 90, 70, 50, 30 m

The following Competitions will be organized by the SKW for the remainder of this year:

1.     Teuguni 1440 on Saturday, 28 June 2008

2.     SKW 1440 on Saturday, 12 July 2008

3.     Afro Pumps Invitation, Saturday, July 26, 2008

4.     SKW 1440 Saturday, August August 2, 2008. (This    shoot will only be held should AAN be sending Juniors to the World Championships in Turkey in October)

5.     SKW 1440 on Saturday, August 16, 2008

6.     AAN FITA Nationals, September 12 to 14,  2008. Under the auspices of AAN, organized by SKW Archers.

7.     SKW Club Championships, October 25 to 26, 2008.

8.     "King of the Wind", November 22, 2008.

Several 720 and 900 shoots will be organized on mostly Sundays in between.

Detailed notices and reminders will be sent shortly before each shoot.

SKW Archery

Please take note that on this coming Saturday June 28th, a FITA 1440 round (Teuguni 1440) will be shot at the archery range of the SKW in Windhoek.

• Categories will be Masters Men, Men, Junior Men, Cadet men, Cubs Men and under 12, as well as the same groups for Women/Female archers.

• Rules will be according to FITA Book of Rules and will be explained to all newcomers on the range.

• Dress Code: club colors, alternatively White shirt/T-shirt and short or long trousers. Contrary to FITA dress regulations, we at the SKW accept jeans as part of the dress regulations.

• Competition is open to all members of AAN affiliated clubs. Scores achieved will be used for all qualification purposes. This competition is part of continuous trials.

• Please: all interested starters, must notify Frank Bockmuhl at frabo@mail.na (mobile phone 081 1278665 for sms notifications) before Thursday afternoon 12:00 o'clock, as the lay-out of the range needs to be planned and prepared according to the interested starters on Friday afternoon.

• Practice: the range will be open on Friday 27th June as from 15:00 for practice.

  • Fees for non-club members: N$ 30.00 to be paid at the start of practice

• Competion times:

  • Range opens 07:30 for registration of archers

  • Briefing 07:50

  • sighting arrows 08:00

  • start of competition 08:15

• Competition starting fees: (starting fees have to be paid at registration, please!)

  • SKW Club members N$ 50.00

  • Archery Association affiliated members (non-SKW) N$ 75.00
